Chuck's practice focused on tort litigation defense with particular emphasis on catastrophic injury claims, product liability, construction site accidents, and commercial torts. He has also defended actions involving employment practices, first amendment rights, health care professionals, skilled nursing facilities, and elder abuse issues.
In 1995, Chuck was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He tried jury trials in 15 counties in State and Federal Courts between 1979 and 2019. He served as a director of the Northern California Association of Defense Counsel and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County. His professional memberships included the Northern California Association of Defense Counsel, Association of Ski Defense Attorneys, and the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Chuck lectured on a variety of topics for the Bar CLE program and frequently served as a mediator and arbitrator.
